Most people don’t look for a mentor when everything is going smoothly. They reach out when something in life or work begins to shift.
Perhaps a career change is being considered. A role no longer feels right. Retirement is approaching and the future feels less clear than expected. Or there may simply be a sense that something needs to change, even if the next step isn’t obvious yet.
Often people have already thought about their situation for some time. They may have talked with friends or family, but sometimes what they want is a conversation with someone outside their immediate circle — someone who can listen carefully and offer a thoughtful perspective.
