Whether supporting individuals through a divorce or helping them plan for the future, I saw how powerful it can be to create space for people to speak openly especially during times of uncertainty. Being heard often brings clarity, and with clarity, the ability to move forward.
That understanding stayed with me.
Like many, I have navigated periods of uncertainty myself. In the late 1980s, while working in a secure role as a paralegal, rising interest rates and industry changes prompted me to reflect on what I truly wanted. I made the decision to return to school full-time for three years, shifting direction and becoming an Interior Designer.
My work eventually focused on aging-in-place design, supporting individuals as they planned for later stages of life. This led to speaking engagements on retirement and lifestyle transitions and later to teaching “people skills” and business-related courses at the college level. Alongside this work, I continued to support individuals navigating the non-financial side of retirement.
To deepen this work, I completed a Certificate in Grief Counseling recognizing that many life transitions carry elements of loss, even when they are chosen.
These experiences shape the way I work today - offering a thoughtful, grounded space for people navigating change, uncertainty, and transition.
